Fortnite streamer Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf is best known for winning the inaugural Fortnite World Cup last year. At that time, the American streamer was just 16-years old. With that win, he staked his claim to $3 million in prize money. At that time, he dominated six matches of Battle Royale at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Unfortunately, Bugha appear to have a torrid time on the video game. This is fairly surprising since he is the inaugural World Cup winner and is one of the highest-rated players. So the American understandably felt frustrated with the game. The last straw was when he dropped into the water and his avatar just died.
At this point, Bugha began questioning why he started streaming the game in the first place. Then, Bugha’s followers immediately jumped in to reassure him, but he was clearly fed to the teeth.
Is Bugha so upset with Fortnite?
The 17-year old’s main gripe was with newcomers and ‘bad players’, being able to kill him off so easily. He also detested the fact that players with controllers are finding it easier than PC players. It got to a stage where he didn’t want to play the game anymore. He even admitted that there was no point returning as it would be status quo.
Another thing was the number of trolls that he faced, who constantly trash-talked him. Bugha also stated that people expect gamers to maintain a mask of positivity and simply brush off losses like it is no big deal. Amid his ranting, he insisted that he is not depressed and does not need a therapist. However, he confessed that whenever he performs poorly, his mental state just goes down.
When he clinched the Fortnite World Cup, it took around 10 weeks of qualifying and a one-day grand final. The Fortnite World Cup took place from the July 26th to the 28th, 2019 in New York City. Bugha started off on a strong note and seized one win and had a high rank in six games. He kept the top spot throughout the day and had a commanding lead in the last game, where it seemed almost impossible for him to lose.
